A community bank with a strong history of exceptional service and more than two billion dollars under cap was challenged by the mergers of global financial giants. They needed their branch managers to take ownership of business development by interacting more directly with customers and becoming ambassadors for the bank's growing suite of products and services.
Using the DISC model, PSP showed the bank managers how their interactions with clients and co-workers could help build the business. Learning about their own interaction styles and preferences and those of their colleagues showed them new ways to connect with customers. They also realized that they could leverage the complementary skills of other team members when attending events and networking together.
Bank managers learned to attract new clients and evaluate their current client's needs more effectively. They also learned to call upon on their co-workers for help and advice when they encountered a client with a different interaction style. Together, this led to an increase in the average number of accounts per customer and in the bank's overall capital holdings.
